My Beautiful Brown Eyed Girl!!

I was so surprised to get a new picture of our beautiful brown eyed girl today. (Thank you Pam and Joel!) Isn't she just gorgeous! I was taken off guard though because they cut off all her curls! I cried and not just because of the curls being gone, but because she looked a little peaked and thinner to me, and maybe even a little lonely. I guess I'm just a worrying mommy. While of course I greatly treasure every picture, it somehow made it harder to wait. I know they are taking good care of her at the orphanage, but I just want to hold her so badly it's almost unbearable at times. I just ache inside and two weeks seems like an eternity. Please pray for us that the passport will come soon. Also, please pray that we will have strength to wait.

Waiting On The Edge of Our Seats

Well, we have done it! We bought our plane tickets! Really Dillon recommends that we wait until the passport has been received by the orphanage director because you don't know what could happen with the mail, etc. , but we decided that we have allowed some time for delays, hold-ups, etc. and also we got a really great deal. We just know that if we wait the availability is going to be bad, and it would put us traveling later. Now we just have to wait until we hear the passport has been received and then.... Feb. 14th... that's right we'll leave on Valentine's Day!!!
Lately I just feel like I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what is going to happen. I just want to crawl on an airplane tomorrow and go pick up my baby girl! This weekend has been difficult, I've been battling all of these awful feelings of fear and doubt. We have had so many set backs during our process that I just don't want to face one more road block. We are so close, yet still so far away. There are still so many ifs and whens, but I'm trying to focus on what I know to be true. So here are a few things I know:

  • I know that God has called us to this very moment in our lives.
  • I know that He is mindful of us;He hasn't forgotten our circumstances, and all the details that have to work together in order for us to be able to travel.
  • I know that God's word is true.
  • I know that God loves us and has good plans for us (Jer.29:11)
  • I know that ALL things work together for the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

Waiting For Passport... In An Ice Storm!!

We are waiting for Jadyn's passport, and hoping to find out, next week, a better time frame of when to expect it, but right now it looks like the end of the month. God's timing is perfect... so we just wait. When we receive word of a reliable time frame, we hope to start booking (but not purchasing) flights in order to have tickets available. We are so hoping to have a special little Valentine in our arms this year!
Soooo much has happened lately. It really is time for some celebration!! As we are coming closer to the end of our long journey to Jadyn, and as the new year has begun, I just want to take a moment to praise God for all that He has done. This year has been a year of challenge and growth, but I know our faith is stronger because of it. I look forward to all that God has in store for us in 2007! This is the year we are going to hold our daughter for the first time! WOW! I was thinking of the scripture verse in 1 Corinthians 2: 9 No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him. PRAISE HIS NAME!!!
We are having a major ice storm here and the trees, powerlines, and everything are covered in ice (I keep hearing tree limbs cracking and falling outside- eeek!) My internet connection keeps going down and the lights are blinking on and off so I should probably end this post, but please continue to remember us in your prayers. Please pray that God would allow us to travel in his perfect timing and would give us good health to do so. Also, please remember our friends Anila and Lenin (Jay's mommy and daddy) We are planning to travel with them and they must have ICPC (out of state paperwork) before passports come, and continue to remember the other families who are still waiting for legals. This is going to be a very important week for them. God bless!
